WooCommerce / WordPress
Preview your dev theme on the client's live WordPress site without affecting a single production visitor. Your client sees the dev version via a secret link; everyone else sees the live site.
How it works
- Install the Theme Sync plugin on the client's WordPress site
- Connect the site to ThemeSync using WP credentials in Store Settings
- Push theme changes via git — they auto-deploy to the client's site
- Share the preview link with your client
- Publish live when approvals are complete — the dev theme replaces the active theme in one click
Installing the Plugin
⚡ Automatic Install
Add WP credentials in Store Settings and click Install Plugin. ThemeSync installs it directly — no FTP or manual upload.
📦 Manual Install
Download the plugin ZIP from your ThemeSync dashboard and upload via WP Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
Connecting to Your Site
Store-level credentials are saved once in Store Settings and shared across all themes on that WooCommerce site. You need:
- Site URL — e.g.
https://client-site.com - WordPress username — an admin-level account
- Application Password — generated in WP Admin → Users → Profile → Application Passwords
With credentials saved, ThemeSync can install the plugin remotely, push theme updates when you commit to git, and fetch site pages for template mapping autocomplete.
Theme Preview
ThemeSync generates a preview link for each WooCommerce theme:
Preview features
- Full WordPress rendering with the dev theme
- WP Admin accessible in preview mode
- Template overrides applied per page
- Secure random token — not guessable
Syncing Changes
Push to your git branch → ThemeSync auto-pulls → packages the theme → delivers it to the WP plugin → client sees the update on their preview link. With auto-sync on, changes appear within 30–60 seconds.
Publishing Live
When all approvals are complete, click Publish Live from the theme overview:
- The dev theme becomes the active live theme
- The preview token is revoked automatically
- No FTP, no manual file copying
